Tawny Bean Soup Recipe

2cupschicken broth

1cupsonions, coarsely chopped

1/2cupscelery, diced

1/2lbcarrots, cut in 2 in pieces

3tbspfinely minced garlic

2cupscooked red beans (15 oz can)

2cupscooked white beans

1/4cupsbrown or green lentils

1/4cupsdry green split peas
-
2cupsbeef broth
-
4sprigs fresh thyme
-
4bay leaves
-
8sage leaves and stems
-
1/4cupschopped Italian parsely (for garnish)
Instructions
In a medium-sized stockpot, heat 2 tablespoons broth over medium heat and saute the onion, celery, carrots and garlic for 3 to 5 minutes, until the onions are translucent.
